No problem, I'm not much help since I'm not up to speed with Btooom due to working in another Wikia site. Refs are useful as they can be easily double check. Any significant edits to character pages needs ref just as a confirmation. If you need help with ref coding, please feel free to ask.
No I haven't heard about the series. I'm pretty into vampire themed manga series: Vampire Knight, Chibi Vampire, and Seraph of the End. If it's like any of the three, I will probably enjoy it. Thanks for the recommendation.
Would you like me to tell you the plot of it? It's kinda funny. I also read Noblesse. And you know what I love most about BTOOOM? I love that the characters are pretty average. They're ot all super muscle heads or giant boobed. They have pretty much average sizes. and it somewhat reminds me a bit like SAO season 2. Except instead of Guns it's BIMs Hmmm I wonder who would win in a fight Ryuota or Kirito?
I actually don't like Btooom. I find it an average show. The trailer and song got me hooked on and tried it out of curiosity. After finishing the series, it was a bit underwhelming. As for the manga series, it's not that compelling for me to continue reading.
I'm glad you love the series. As for the question, Ryota would win if Kirito doesn't rely on his deus ex machina hacks.
Okay! Noblesse is about this vampire who has been asleep for I think 800 years. and his name is Cadis Etrama Di Raizel (I had to look up the spelling.) But he is called Rai pretty much through the whole manga series. He awakens in an abandoned building in the 21 century. And really is totally lost. He has no knowledge of just how far mankind has progressed. After seeing what most of the humans on the streets were wearing, Rai took on the uniform of a student from Ye Ran High School, which is under the administration of Frankenstein (Who is his most loyal servent.).So, now he goes to school He even befriends a few humans, a modified human/were wolf named M-21, a modified human named Takao who excells at marksmanship and long-distance combat, a Genius named Tao who possesses a wide variety of skills ranging from gathering intelligence (through the use of hacking), to counterintelligence (And he is the head of the tactical force team.), a human named Han who while just being a normal human is slightly stronger then a normal human and slightly faster (I think this is due to his Martial arts training. Noblesse follows the group's often dangerous adventures against a secret organization while uncovering Rai's past. So it is good that Rai has such great friends. Because with the fighting there is a danger to himself when he uses his powers. Especially when he uses his Soul weapon. His power is slowly draining his life.
Now to tell you about My boyfriend is a vampire. Now I only really know their english names since it is a manga done in Italy I think.
Gene is just a normal young teenage boy who because of how femine he looks gets hit on by other guys. Even his best friend he knew since he was like 6 or 8 years old thought he was a girl when they first met (Until Gene pulled his pants down which was funny.) Gene is an orphan his mom died shortly after he was born. But going forward like several years Gena is the leader of his own highschool's gang (Mostly because every guy who had ever called him a girl got their butts kicked by him.) He normally didn't get invovled in what his gang does. That is until... his gang told him about the trouble they have been getting from another school gang that took over their hangout.
Gene and his gang went to the hangout and while he didn't want to his buddies convinced him to dress like a girl since that would be the only way to get in. None of them knew that this other gang were a gang of vampires. Their leader Joseph was looking for a human girl to turn into his vampire bride since that was the only way he would become heir and be able to lead the clan. He had planned to bite Gene (Thinking that Gene was a girl). However, his brother Ryu came in and saved Gene and was fatily wounded in the proccess. He got Gene out of there and tried hard to get him to leave but Gene refused and Ryu not being able to hold himself back bites Gene. And that is when all the trouble really starts for him. unknown to him or anyone, at birth with her last dying breath his mother had put a curse on him. If Gene was ever to get bitten by a vampire then he would turn into a girl. (So you can imagine the comical surprise when Gene became Jean and noticed his boy parts were gone.) He is almost always switching back and forth between male and female and the only one to figure this out was Ryu Since he felt responsible for changing Gene he had him move in with him, change schools, and even erased him from all of his friend's memories.
Things only get worse when something inside Gene a presence named Medusa posses him whenever he is passed out and in girl form. She does her darndest to kill the two brothers. But I won't spoil all that for you. But if you do go to the My boyfriend is a vampire Wiki then just so you know I did the character page and pretty much linked the character profile together and some (Like Saul's) Profiles had to have major editing done. It took me four hours to read up on the manga and another 2 hours to do the edits. I even after a month had to undo the horrible things that someone else did to the character page.
It's just the usual stress and school for me. How are you? Sorry for leaving the conversation earlier. Thanks for the information on the 2 series. I'll check them out. Think My boyfriend is a Vampire might be enjoyable.
Hey it's okay I don't think you left I think just that pesky thing called real life gets in the way. And the best thing about My boyfriend is a vampire is that the manga is already over with and you can read it at eatmanga.com So, you won't get lost when you might take a break from it. Also since it isn't a japanese manga there seems to be a different translation of their names then in the mangas I used to get but it still the same otherwise. And I am doing good I just came back from the gym and had to deal with a very creepy guy in the hot tub. *Shivers.* A whole big hot tub and he sits right next to me and leans in to talk to me but is actually looking at my boobs. So, creepy.
Just the usual. Usually, I see children trick or treating. Sometimes, they knock on the door. I don't have candy, so I just give them money. This year, I didn't see anyone on the streets. It could be my location since I move around each year b/c of school.
Well, I enjoy passing out candy but I don't think it is he location that has the lack of trick or treaters. I think it is that less and less houses are passing out candy and such. So, it means less lit up neighborhoods. So, when an adult that is taking the little ones around sees that those blocks have like 1-3 houses passing out candy then to them it won't even be worth walking down. But, I at least passed out candy to about 45 maybe 50 kids all of who's adult family members agreed with me that things were better when we were kids cause we all remember trick or treating and having so much candy by the time it was over that our bags were either tearing or already tore and our pillow cases were filled almost to the top. and while I didn't mention it to the adults I did think it a shame that their kids had such great costumes but no actual halloween bag or bucket. It was just regular grgcery bags that tear so easily.
Oh and one costume that I was surprised to see that I hadn't seen in decades was a Freddie Koger costume. I smiled at that. This year I was a fancy ghost and next year I am going to dress up as the Blood Lad Character Staz. Do you like to dress up when passing out stuff?
Heh well, now that halloween is over I can look forward to thanksgiving.
Oh and guess what? BTOOOM chapter 80 came out on the site that I read them at and it gave me enough info to add a bit of PErsonality and History to Hikaru Soga's page. Now I think I might know how he got sent there.
Sorry for the late reply. Thanksgiving was fine aside from family drama. Do you want me to continue the chat at your Wikia? I work at Anime Vice Wikia. I don't do much here b/c I haven't read far in Btooom. Just looking over edits.
The Soga and his sister photo is from chapter 80, right? I'll add the Fair Use and add his photo to the page.
I'm hoping to have this article renamed to either "Supply Package" or "Briefcase." I honestly prefer the former since it's more self-explanatory to what's inside and more familiar with people when referring to paradrops. If not, then having "droppings" capitalized is fine.
There have been cases throughout the series where players have lost their BIM or no longer possess their original BIM. I've also noticed that the Btooom! series keeps track of what type of BIM a character currently possesses and if they have any at all on the character data sheets. So, here's what I'd like to know in regards to the wiki: how should we track the BIM types for each Btooom! player article?
After thinking about it, I've reached a conclusion: It would probably be best if each BIM type was tracked on what BIM a person had ownership over. By going by this rule, the wiki would be able to wipe out any future problems involving characters who hadn't used their BIM.
Of course, I need to know whether you agree on this or not before I can go through with it, mate.
I recently came across this page, and it shows that the shield type BIM was actually translated as the barrier type BIM. I know this is probably the work of the scanlation team but I feel it would be best to rename the article.
I'm rather sure you've mentioned that you're reading a chapter per day. It was because of that that I was wondering how does it feel like to work on this site, especially when spoilers practically lurk everywhere? Do you shield your eyes every time an unfamiliar person pops up on this wiki, or are you pretty much aware of what's being written?
I'm actually told everyone I'm behind. Look at your messages. I believe it's the first message you received from me: Welcome to Btooom! Wiki. I only watched the anime, and I started reading the manga from the beginning a year ago or so. I'm working a chapter a week. That's why the site is outdated. I'm glad to see new folks here and add pages that are spoiler like the new characters like Yoko Higuchi. I'm used to working in Wikia communities where I'm behind everyone. I pretty much can tell what they're saying and avoid reading their comments.
The only thing I was spoiled with was the deaths of S***i, D*t*, and others. When folks change their status, they don't include refs or add details why they were dead. I'm forced to skip and ahead and skim to the parts where they die. I filled it out.
Would you happen to see any use of pages dedicated to information on alliances made between the Btooom! players, or do you believe the character pages and chapter/episode summaries explain enough about them on their own. Or maybe it's not pages we need but just categories that are needed...?
I only brought this up with you because of the following:
- Felt that there was already a focus on characters, chapters, episodes, BIM, but definitely not on alliances between the players, especially concerning the members in them and how an alliance came to be disbanded when the alliance itself eventually came to an end. Basically, a status, group disposition, and history to be stated.
- Again, not enough emphasis on how each group generally behaved.
- Wanted to see a separation between existing groups and disbanded groups.
- Figured that it was much more easier to organize the members of the alliances if you had at least something to display to the readers on who are the current members, whether a member was deceased, or whether a person was previously a member at one point.
- Wanted to make it easier to organize when linking up an alliance a member is associated with or once associated themselves with by linking up the name of that alliance instead of just listing all of the members within that alliance at the time, thus lessening words in pages that were relevant.
- Also wanted to place emphasis on the leaders of these groups. Since no names were given to any current alliances, it's best to say the name of the group with the designated leader. For instance: Ryōta's group, Yoshihisa's group, Masashi's group, and Himiko's group.
I do believe your idea is good, and I see the benefits.
There are some issues with the idea such as how we're going to organize it, how we're going to divide the pages, and how we're going to name it without being too subjective. Some of alliances are short lived such as Ryota and Kira's alliance to get out of that pitfall. We're going to face a lot of stub articles unless we combined into one page: Alliances. Can we devote a section called Alliance on the character pages? Is it redundant since we have a relationships section?
If it's too subjective, a blog would be better.
I'll put up a discussion on it soon. Sorry, I was busy making the Winter 2014 Guide at Anime Vice all week.
Whew. No, everything seems fine. I'm glad that you've considered it and I'm also glad that you pointed out the errors that I hadn't seen. A lot of times you can miss the faults in your own idea once you give support to it. Also, do we actually have a relationships section? I've hadn't had any clue to it.
I suppose if we're going to seriously go with this idea we might have to put up some requirements as to what will qualify as an alliance in this site, and if they're notable enough to make a mention of.
Also it's perfectly fine. A lot of people are inclined toward committing themselves to a specific goal in mind, and this goal differs from person to person. Perfectly fine. Happy New Year to you as well! ^^
By rough draft, you really mean that I'm able to write whatever ideas I have to compile without any worry of repercussion, right? If that's the case, then I'm assuming that this page may later be subject to deletion if we ever finish.
Yes, you may. We won't be deleting the page. Rather, we recycle it into Ryota's alliance then transfer the other alliances to new pages if it's necessary. Next time, please write on my wall or Tweet at me in Twitter. These are my two main forms of communication. Writing in the edit summary will not send an e-mail to me. I check my e-mail to see if anyone in the Wikia needs to talk.
Naw, I don't really know him that well, I just figured he was the highest ranked person on the wiki, so I'd ask himabout it first. And thank you for your health. If you want, I can add the VAs for you, as soon as the infobox is ready for it. Thanks, Taka! :3
I somewhat edited it. You can make changes to it. I don't mind since I trust you. Regarding Bere, he is number one. He was the former Admin before he passed down the powers to me. We Admins have a limit on how many communities we can manage. I'm not a great wiki editor because I haven't read the manga past the anime, and I'm not a code expert. Though, I did skimmed a bit ahead occassionally for characters who died.
Thank you for your suggestions. I completely forgot about the VAs.
Hey, no problem! I just got caught up with the manga, and I figured I'd start editing here. I'll add the VAs, but I don't have a set time when I will do them. Rest assured, they will be put in there. Thanks for being understanding, Taka! :3
For some reason the VAs are not showing up on the actual page. I was trying to mess around with Ryota's, and I saw you already have them on there. FOr some reason, they aren't showing up! I checked the infobox information, and I don't see what the problem is! Could you give it another check?
Crap, I'm sorry for the late reply. I don't know what's going on. I check the template page and did a preview. On the character page, it's not showing up. Let me contact Bere on Twitter. That's the fastest way to reach him.
I finally figured it out. I was stupid. There was actually two types of character infoboxes. One of the character pages, Iwamoto, had the VA code working. When I compared Ryota and Iwamoto's page, I saw there was two different infoboxes.
I'm created the Gantz wikia(not counting the stub there before), and it has over twenty thousand views a week on average now. OnePieceNation just redid the main page recently, and came up with the idea to have "Affiliated Sites" at the bottom of it. Gantz and Btooom! are similar, random strangers tossed out to fight to the death in an unknown situation, etc. Would you agree to post a link to our wikia at the bottom of your main page, if we do the same for you?
Call me crazy, but I don't think Btooom Wikia is ready. I usually limit affiliations with Wikia communities that my teammates and I work on. That's why you see Btooom is affiliated with Sket Dance. I feel that if there is bond between the communities, the affiliation feature is utilized to its fullest potential. I know you worked in the community. I don't have you listed in mywiki report for December 2012 since you started out in January 2013. I do thank you for your contributions. I definitely follow up with your affiliation in the near future. Your community won't benefit from hooking up with a small community like this one. We got 103 pages created, all 12 episode summaries filled out (by me), and 12 chapters out of 60 filled out (by me as well).
Funny thing is that I got involved with Btooom Wikia after I found out a wiki editor, Kingdayday, plagiarized my plot summaries from Anime Vice. After finishing both episode summaries in Anime Vice and Btooom and making sure they're unique, I stopped working on Btooom in Anime Vice and resumed working here in the community for 8 months on and off.
I'm not the best Admin or wiki editor. I can only manage to do one chapter summary a week due to school and being an Admin in Sket Dance Wikia and a new mod in Anime Vice. By the next 18 weeks, I should be able to finish a total of 30 chapter summaries. In addition, I will try reading Gantz or watched the anime for the first time. I will work in your community for 3 weeks during winter break, December 2013.
I will contact you, and we will start an affiliation together. I know Bere will slap me for being stupid and not accepting this affiliation right away. This is how I operate. I'm used to working in small Wikia communities. I'm sorry for causing you inconvenience. I need to work in your Wikia community to return the favor.
